Currently the cycling network is around 35 km long and there are places to park bicycles along the route. The aim is to reach 54 km and guarantee the connection between housing areas and facilities such as universities and schools.

With the implementation of these priority routes, the circulation of bicycles and scooters will be easier and safer, allowing greater adoption of these sustainable means of transport. It is important to highlight that smooth mobility is a way of improving citizens quality of life and reducing the emission of polluting gases, thus contributing to a healthier and more sustainable environment.

Furthermore, the Porto City Council has been investing in the creation of cycle paths segregated from car traffic, improving the safety of bicycle users and promoting intermodality, that is, the possibility of using several means of transport in the same journey, such as bicycle and the metro, for example.

In short, the implementation of these priority routes is another important step in promoting smooth mobility and transforming the city of Porto into a more environmentally and citizen-friendly city.

There are also places to park your bike in metro stations and train stations.
